Happy Birthday, Pride & Prejudice!

Idag är det 200 år sedan som den älskade boken av Jane Austen kom ut. Jag vet inte hur många gånger jag har läst den eller sett serien och filmen. Har ju som bekant varit förälskad i Mr Darcy sen jag såg Colin Firth i rollen 1995, och läste således boken straxt efter detta. Dock har jag ett svagt minne att den första Austen-boken jag läste var Mansfield Park i högstadiet. Men uppenbarligen var det inte förrän jag läste Stolthet och Fördom som jag föll för författarinnan i fråga, eller snarare Mr Darcy, för han är en anings mer attraktiv än Edmund i MP. Eller så var det hela det där med att kusiner gifter sig med varandra som mitt unga hjärta inte riktigt kunde greppa. ;)

It's been 200 years since the beloved novel Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen first came out. I don't know how many times I've read it seen the BBC-series or the movie. Have as you may very well know been in love with Mr Darcy since I saw Colin Firth in the role in 1995's adaptation, and read the book after this. As it happens I do have a memory of Mansfield Park being the first Austen-novel I read. But apparently it wasn't until I read Pride & Prejudice I fell for said authoress, or rather Mr Darcy, because he's a bit more attractive than Edmund in MP. Or perhaps it was the whole idea of marrying your cousin that didn't really sit well with my young heart.
